Skiing with Friends

Vishal organized the cabin and the trip itinerary that worked out great. Mansi's veteran cousins took off for Heavenly while the rest of us touched the snow in Sierra, Tahoe. Nature blessed us with clear skies and the full moon for the entire trip. Everyone learn't skiing or snowboarding, some relearnt and unlearnt old techniques. Three got to the top and tried a few blue diamonds and felt the fear.

At the end of the day, the hot-tub and the fireplace worked great to cure Buttitis. Buttitis is inevitable from falling on one's butt during long hours skiing. Kullu's video in front of the fireplace in the living room was hilarious :). The Birthday Boy, Rajiv was the champion who would'nt fall even on a blue diamond - with his tried and trusted Wedges, with heavenly assistance with Sirisha's prayers. Vishal strutted his - Gently Does it - stuff with his own snowboard. We went overboard with food supplies, cocktails, beers and the barbeque, enough to last us for a few more days.

Looks a conversation to iron out stereotypical misconceptions of ABCDs and Desi's turned out fine after all. The slopes and the casino too - lots of Indian (Americans) from the bay area land up here - Who could get homesick here :). On the way home, a lunch stopover on Christmas eve at an american dhaba called Murder Burgers (now Redrum Burgers) in Davis was a hit. It's the only place around for miles that open on any Holiday. So was the real lemontree episode just before.

on the Top of the mountain, there was a moment - Two Friends quietly sipped coffee with Baileys with sweet potato fries, Nice music .. the high life and a long cherished dream to Fly - We'll timeshare a plane in the years to come, that'll fly in India to ski resorts like Auli. Slopes in the Himalayas end, way before before Tahoe even begins.

Satin missed this trip stuck between satin sheets. We made up for it with the raw skiing videos that need a songover to hide the grunts and pictures on the telly at the end of the trip. It's Tahoe again next weekend now. This free-heel telemark skiing sounds interesting. Heck, We could do our own standup comedy next time. Heard about why Kullu doesn't need a handycam?
